Trial Examines Effect of Collagen Peptides on Appetite and Post Exercise Energy Intake

Research published in the British Journal of Nutrition describes a study where fifteen health female participant were given 15 grams of collagen peptides or a taste-matched non-energy control for 7 days after which 7 participants cycled for 45 minutes before consuming the final supplement. The researchers determined that the supplementation following exercise lowered ghrelin levels, increased GLP-1 and insulin and reduced ad libitum energy intake in the female subjects.
